Um mig
Ég heiti Guðrún og er sjálflærður íslenskur listamaður, fædd og uppalin í Kópavogi. Í gegnum árin hef ég stundað ýmis listanámskeið, bæði sem barn og fullorðin — í Namibíu, í Bandaríkjunum þar sem ég bjó á unglingsárum, og hér á Íslandi. Þessar fjölbreyttu reynslur hafa mótað mitt sjónræna málfar og víkkað listræna sýn mína.
Samhliða skapandi vinnunni hef ég djúpa ástríðu fyrir náttúrunni, sérstaklega fjallahlaupum og ferðalögum um íslensk fjöll og landslag. Þessi tenging við náttúruna er jarðtengingin mín — og ein helsta uppspretta innblástursins í verkunum mínum.
Að snúa aftur að málverkinu gaf mér tækifæri til að hægja á, tengjast sjálfri mér á ný og tjá tilfinningar og reynslu sem orð ná oft ekki utan um. Verk mín eru mótuð af íslenskri náttúru, kyrrð og hljóðlátum augnablikum sem gefa rými, skýrleika og frið. Með list minni leitast ég við að skapa verk sem kalla fram ró, mýkt og þá blíðu tilfinningu sem fylgir því að draga djúpt andann úti í náttúrunni.
